Getting an Attorney involved in your home purchase is not only smart, it sometimes may be required. As with any legal matter, there can be unforeseen complexities with a real estate transaction so it’s always a good idea to have an Attorney present once your home is under contract.

In this video, CJ Lamb, a Real Estate Attorney and Partner at The Gunderson Law Firm, talks about an Attorney’s role in a home purchase.

Tip #1: As a buyer, you should begin working with an Attorney once your home is under contract.

Tip #2: There are approximately 23 states that require an Attorney’s involvement in a real estate transaction. If your state does not require you to have an Attorney, however, it is still advisable that you work with one.

Tip #3: Attorney fees for a home purchase are typically very reasonable – it is usually a fixed rate of between $500 – $1,000.
