Well this has been a terrible roll out. A REAL disaster by any measurement. If you want real news just look at the comment thread on my last stimulus check video where hundreds of didn’t get payments and had payments sent to wrong bank accounts… the list goes on an on.

Here’s the update for today and where things stand. The treasury department says that 80 million Americans have received their direct deposits. That sounds great but it’s not true according to reports coming in all over the country including right here on my channel. One of the most disturbing stories is that the IRS has been sending checks to people that died years ago. Here is one example from the market watch story. Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, said Wednesday a friend texted him to say his father had just received his $1,200 in stimulus money. There’s just one problem he died in 2018. Let me know if you have also experienced a similar problem with your check. Please leave a comment below tell me your experience.

In Florida, tax preparer Adam Markowitz has also seen examples among his clientele of the IRS sending stimulus money to dead people this week.
What’s more, it appears the survivors can keep the money, Markowitz and other tax experts told MarketWatch.

So I guess good news if you have a relative that passed away recently you get to keep their stimulus money if the IRS makes that mistake. And we wonder why our country is massively in debt. Isn’t it easy for the government to check to see if a person is dead or not. Presumably they wouldn’t still be receiving their Social Security benefits so they could probably check that in the computer. One thing we also learned this week is that the government is using incredibly old computers and software systems.
