Get A Home Inspection Before You Buy

Buying a new home can be an exciting time for many people. First you find several homes you want to view, you contact a realtor who sets up multiple showings for you, and you visit the homes. If you're lucky you find the home of your dreams and put in an offer. If not, its back to searching. This can become a long and tedious process. In fact many people will view between 15 and 20 homes before they find one that meets their needs.

One of the factors on whether that house you are looking at is your dream home or a money pit depends on what the home inspection turns up. A home inspection is really not an option. Most mortgage lenders will require it and it is an absolute necessity anyway. They should be conducted by a trained professional who knows what to look for.

A home inspection is a top to bottom, objective, non-invasive visual examination of a home or piece of property. In particular, non-invasive means that the components being inspected will not be dismantled, and if the item is not functioning, the inspector will not attempt to make any repair. The inspector will, however, provide you with a professional opinion on what should be done to correct the problems that he or she might come across.
